REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a web-based application developed by Vanderbilt University to capture data for clinical research and create databases and projects and was first released in the year 2004. REDCap (with the latest version 1112.05.3 8 released in May 20212022) is widely used in academic research institutions with more than 2400 6400 institutional collaborators in over 115 150 countries and serves more than 590,000 2.5 million end-users and more than 450,000 1.7 million ongoing research studies on this platform (updated on 11th Jan 202218th April 2023).
