Answer:

  1. For security and privacy reasons AHS specified to APPROACH that if there is no activity for 45 minutes in this application that the system must automatically log the user out.
    1. APPROACH makes you aware of the time of inactivity by displaying an auto log out counter in the top right hand window of the application that is always visible if you are in the APPROACH window

    2. The counter is reset when moving between tabs/pages and when adding / editing / deleting patient events and running reports.

  2. On AHS networks whilst in APPROACH and launching another program, this could trigger an end to an APPROACH session

      1. DO NOT have other programs running in the background as experience has shown that some AHS set ups / programs will not run extra programs all together

  3. Sometimes an APPROACH Server error may occur.  APPROACH Service Desk will need to be informed of the actual message, what steps were taken that triggered error and investigate why this occurred and give you a work around / correct the issue.

  1. The page was not saved by the user. Dependent on user permissions, data will automatically save changes when moving between the current patient event's tabs.

      1. Ensure you save and exit when finished with the current patient event
      2. Ensure you save your data before the session time's out and you have not opted to extend your session.

      3. When in doubt just save the page
      4. Two staff members cannot be entering information on the same patient at the same time e.g. Cardiologist is on CARAT and technologist or nurse are entering yes or no to fluid /contrast used on the proc data tab ....the proc data information will not save ! Please be mindful of this including signing out of that patient once you have completed the carat diagram etc.If 2 users are accessing the same patient, there will be a concurrency warning that you can override or you can reload and then can re-enter.
      5. You should only update data with your own APPROACH log in. If you use another person's login you are in contravention of the APPROACH Sign On agreement and will result in "...immediate suspension of (your) Password privileges and that (you) may be subject to further disciplinary action. "
