How do I make my Record Status Dashboard look normal?

Using the Custom Dashboard and floating headers

If you have a large longitudinal study, you might have noticed some anomalies with table alignments when using the Record Status Dashboard. There are a couple of things you can do to improve the overall look and feel of the Dashboard.

Try using Google Chrome for a web browser.

Chrome does a better job than Internet Explorer or Firefox in handling large tables in the Dashboard.

Create a custom dashboard.

Click the Create Custom Dashboard button and set the Header Orientation to Vertical. You can also set filters to only view certain records or even exclude specific instruments or events to decrease the number of columns displayed.

Disable floating headers.

Clicking the Table not displaying properly link at the top right of the table will disable floating headers and improve alignment with the table. Clicking again will re-enable floating headers.

Creating Custom Dashboards can be useful for a variety of issues.  For example, a research study might want to review data based on the secondary ID. This could be done via the custom dashboard.

The Custom Dashboard could change a view sorted by record ID, to a view sorted by a different variable.

Please note the dashboard title can be customized, and events and/or instruments can be selected or left out. There is also filter logic available. 

In this case, we've filtered out any records with a record ID not greater than 0.  The result looks like this.
