How do I utilize DAGs and custom record ID’s and send surveys to participants?

Setting up your project using Data Access Groups and Custom Record IDs

1. Make sure your first instrument is NOT a survey. This can be a simple demographics instrument or “landing page”.

2. Create a text field with email address validation on your first instrument.

3. Enable Designate a Secondary Unique Identifier Field and associate the email address field from your first instrument.

4. Verify Auto-numbering of records is disabled.

5. Create and name your Data Access Groups (DAGs)

6. Associate the necessary users with the newly created Data Access Groups.

7. Using the add/edit records function will then allow you to create the custom record ID of your choosing as well as populate the participant’s email address.

8. Once the record is created, you'll be able to send invitations from the Compose Survey Invitations section within Manage Survey Participants
