How do I email a completed survey in Alerts & Notifications?

Alerts & Notifications can add file attachments to automated email and messaging.

  1. Attach a file that has been uploaded in the record by referencing the variable (ex. [file_variable]) 

  2. Attach a file located outside REDCap 

 

Scenario-based additional steps: 

In the event you are trying to reference a survey, additional steps may be required.

In your online designer, create a file upload field for the survey.

 

 

Enable the external module "Save Survey to PDF" 

 

 

Configure the module to save the survey to the correct designation location:

 

 

The survey is now saved as a PDF in the record and can be referenced by the Alerts & Notifications Module
