What is CHI's REDCap new password policy?
In order to enhance security and prevent misuse of shared systems, a more stringent password policy has been implemented on CHI's REDCap platform.
Here is the current password policy:
Password complexity: a password must contain at least one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, one number, and a special character. It must be at least 12 characters long and cannot be the same as your 5 most recent passwords. For instance, consider the example "Passwordchirc@2023."
Password expiry: users will be prompted to update their REDCap password every 3 months.
Password autocomplete: depending on your browser, your username/password may no longer be remembered or stored. This is especially important on shared or public computers.
We strongly advise storing your passwords securely. Consider making use of a password vault or password manager if needed.
By practicing secure password storage, you can reduce the risk of unauthorized access and protect your accounts effectively.
