How do I create a Landing Page?

When utilizing surveys in REDCap, the initial survey must be completed before any subsequent surveys will become available. The reason for this is the initial survey is what REDCap

uses to create the participant record and tie it to the data collected. In light of this, most studies will use a "landing page" as their initial survey. This is usually something

short and simple, such as collecting demographics, etc.

In order to create a landing page that will allow you to direct respondents to the appropriate surveys you can follow these steps:

1) Make sure your landing page in the first position in the online designer

2) Sometimes the demographics questions will be what determines which survey the participant will see next.  In this case, we want to use branching logic to send

Children to the Child PEDSQL and Parents to the Parent PEDSQL.

3) You can use the Survey Queue to customize the flow of the survey

4) You can use syntax that is similar to branching logic syntax to designate when your instruments should appear.  In this example we are instructing REDCap to show the Parent PEDSQL

when a participant indicates they are a parent and to show the Child PEDSQL when the participant indicate they are a child.

After setting up these rules you can test them by going to Manage Survey Participants and selecting open public survey.  IfÂ
