Requesting External Modules

To request external modules using our request form, indicate that you are looking for ‘REDCap support’. For the types of REDCap support, select ‘eConsent using REDCap'.

The form will display our list of currently available modules (others may be available. Click ‘Other’ to indicate which external module(s) you would like to request). Testing options will appear.

Testing External Modules

Depending on which external modules are selected, additional information will appear to recommend specific testing options.

Option 1 - Access to the CRU’s Test Project(s)

Each module has a specifically designed test project to showcase its features. Researcher/PIs/ Research team can be given access to these projects to see a general template of how the module functions.

• Show By Role

Once selected, another field will open and you will be prompted to fill out the user name of a single user who will be testing the external module during the free trial period

Option 2 - Copy of existing active project without original data

Research teams can be given access to a copied version of their active project, where they can see the functionality of the module within their own project setup. CRU team member will copy a project, add users, and enable modules for Researcher/PIs/Research team member use.

  • Auto Populate Fields

  • Auto-schedule

  • Instance Table

Option 3 - In the existing active project

Researcher/PIs/Research team can test modules using their active projects. If the project is in production, or has already begun data collection it is recommended that they should not use this option, especially if recommended to test in copy of project as indicated above. However, if a project is a new build, all modules can be tested within development status and before actual data is entered.
