User Profile

Accessing your User Profile

Your REDCap User Profile is not project-specific. The Profile button appears in the top right of REDCap’s Menu Header (Visible from the Home page or My Projects page)

User Information

Your profile should already have a Primary Email. The primary email address is used for receiving emails and notifications from REDCap

A phone number and/or mobile phone number is required for some Two Step Verification options.

A Secondary Email and Tertiary Email can be added to your user profile. Once added, they appear as possible ‘From’ email addresses when sending survey invitations and alerts.

When using REDCap to send emails (through survey invitations or alerts & notifications), using a @ucalgary.ca email address is strongly encouraged to avoid issues with email spam filtering.

If a @ucalgary.ca email address has been created for you, add it as a secondary or tertiary email to use it in your project as a ‘From’ email address.

 

User Preferences

The ‘User Preferences’ section changes how you view items in REDCap. It does not affect project data or change how the data is stored.

REDCap Messenger

REDCap Messenger can be used to send messages to other users within REDCap. It may also be used by projects as part of the Data Quality Workflow module.

General Notifications are sent by REDCap administrators to all users.

System Notifications give updates on new features after system upgrades.

If you are receiving too many REDCap Messenger notifications to your email, the frequency can be changed.
