CRU’s Electronic Data Capture Services
We support two project types:
Self-service projects are hosted on the CRU’s REDCap platform and built independently by the study team.
CRU supported projects are built and maintained by the CRU’s database development team.
Regardless of whether a project is self-served or CRU supported, both have access to support from the CRU. Visit the CRU Website for a breakdown of the service plans available.
For questions, consultations, training meetings, tech support, or any additional support, contact our support desk at cru@ucalgary.ca. Your request will be sent to the appropriate person who will contact you with further information.
REDCap Training Resources
Video Tutorials
The developers of the REDCap, Vanderbilt University, have REDCap Training Videos available.
There are also video tutorials available on REDCap’s Training Resources Page (no login necessary, scroll down to find the tutorials).

Practice Project
Visit our Support Request Form to request a free 60-Day trial of a REDCap practice project. This will allow temporary access to CRU’s REDCap platform for exploring functions and features.
Training Meetings and Consultations
Training meetings and consultations are available with us at the CRU. These meetings are currently being held virtually. We explore your specific project needs and offer walkthroughs, input on project design, perspectives on privacy security and data analysis, tips and tricks, and any advice or answers you have about REDCap and our services.
