How to display and embed a picture in REDCap


To display a picture in REDCap, the simple way usually works just fine.  Just create a new variable. Choose Descriptive Text. Then Attach an image, and mark it as inline.  


This will create an online image that looks like this:  


It will also display in Survey and/or Data Entry Mode: 



Additionally, you can embed a photo to customize its alignment on the page.

The first step to do this is to repeat the above process with the picture you would like to host and display.  


It will create a variable in the build view that looks like this.  


Then create a descriptive text field with the image variable in { } brackets and use the rich text editor to format the placement of the photo as needed. Note: A photo can be embedded into any field type
